## Built-in refrigeration repair

Panel-ready refrigeration is sealed into cabinetry in a climate that runs a 70-degree dew point for five months. The failures follow from that.

Symptoms: Fresh food section drifting warm while the freezer holds perfectly; Condensation or beading on the door seam and cabinet face; Mould in the folds of the door gasket, with a musty smell on opening; Frost building on the back wall or around the evaporator cover; Compressor running almost continuously and the unit still not cold; Unit will not restart, or lights up but does nothing, after an outage; Door no longer pulling itself closed on the last inch.

## Ice machine and ice maker repair

An ice machine runs a freeze cycle and a harvest cycle against a Florida summer. Which of the two has stopped working decides the whole diagnosis.

Symptoms: Cubes coming out hollow, cloudy or soft instead of clear and solid; Cubes fusing into a slab in the bin rather than releasing separately; Machine filling with water but never harvesting the batch; Production rate falling off until the bin no longer fills overnight; Bin filling only part way before the machine stops calling for ice; Water on the floor under an undercounter unit; Machine cycling but making no ice at all after a power event.

## Built-in dishwasher repair

Half the dishwashers we are called to are working correctly and installed badly. Telling those two apart is the first thing the diagnostic does.

Symptoms: Plastics still wet at the end of a cycle in a closed, humid kitchen; Standing water left in the sump after the drain should have finished; Cycle running far longer than it used to for a worse result; Grit or food redeposited on the lower rack after a full cycle; Detergent tablet still sitting undissolved in the dispenser at the end; Door seal weeping at a lower corner; Panel unresponsive or the cycle aborting partway through.

## Wall oven and range repair

An oven that bakes long is a measurement problem first. We probe the cavity through a full cycle before deciding what, if anything, is broken.

Symptoms: Everything baking long, or browning unevenly front to back; Display reading the set point while the cavity sits well below it; Burner clicking continuously and refusing to stop sparking; Burner lighting with a lazy yellow flame instead of a crisp blue one; Convection fan noisy, intermittent or not running at all; Oven door no longer closing flush, with heat washing the control panel; Control board unresponsive or partly dead after a storm outage; Steam oven leaving the cavity wet, or venting moisture into the cabinet.

## Cooktop and ventilation repair

Ventilation is a humidity control device here, not just a smoke extractor. When it stops capturing, the refrigerator three feet away notices.

Symptoms: Induction element cutting out partway through a sear at high power; Gas burner clicking continuously without lighting after damp weather; Burner burning yellow and sooty instead of crisp blue; Cooktop surface light or display flashing and the element refusing to heat; Hood blower loud but no longer pulling steam or smoke off the pan; Downdraft rising slowly, sticking, or not rising at all; Grease dripping back onto the cooktop from the hood canopy; Blower running but the kitchen still fogging up when a pot boils.
