An independent shop, by design

No manufacturer sets our schedule, our parts sourcing or our recommendations. That is the whole business model, and it is the reason we can work on a kitchen that carries six different badges.

What independent means here

It means exactly what it says. Northeast Florida Appliance Service is not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by any of the manufacturers named on this site. We hold no manufacturer appointment and we are not applying for one. When we name a brand, we are identifying an appliance we repair.

The practical difference shows up in a mixed kitchen, which in this market is most kitchens. Refrigeration from one maker, a range from a second, a dishwasher from a third, and a plumbed ice machine from a fourth. Route that through manufacturer service lines and you book four separate visits on four separate calendars, each one competent about a single box and incurious about the room it sits in. We take the room.

Why the weather organises everything on this site

Northeast Florida supplies three conditions in quantity: roughly 75 percent mean relative humidity, about 53 inches of rain, and around 68 thunderstorm days a year, on top of a summer in which nothing that rejects heat ever gets a cool night to catch up. Those conditions explain more of our call volume than any brand-specific design decision does. The fourth thing that explains it is not weather at all: it is the cabinet the appliance was fitted into, and how long ago that cabinet was built.

So we organise the work the way a forecaster organises a day: what happens before a front, what happens during it, and what shows up afterwards. It is not a metaphor we reach for in the copy. It is the actual sequence in which the phone rings after a named storm.

What we will not do

  • Claim a manufacturer appointment we do not hold, in any wording. That is the one misrepresentation in this trade that carries real legal weight.
  • Advertise 24-hour or emergency service. We run scheduled appointments — Mon–Fri 8–6 · Sat 9–4 — and telling you a realistic slot is worth more than a promise we would miss.
  • Dress a review up, or quietly lose one. What customers said after a visit is published as it was given to us, the poor ones alongside the good, and the average on the feedback page is worked out from those entries rather than chosen. Every other figure on this site comes from a published source, and where we cannot source something we describe the symptom instead.
  • Sell a part when the cause is the installation. A condenser that cannot breathe, a door held out of square by a sagging hinge, or a drain line that was never looped will destroy the replacement exactly as fast as it destroyed the original, and we would rather say so than fit it twice.

How a visit runs

  1. before

    Before we arrive

We ask for the model and serial number off the data plate, the address, and what the appliance is actually doing — not what you think is broken. The serial number matters more than the model: built-in equipment is revised mid-production, and the correct board, gasket or compressor for a unit is frequently decided by the serial, not the badge on the door.

  2. during

    During the visit

A $129 flat diagnostic buys measurement, not guesswork: temperatures taken through a full cycle, pressures where the sealed system is in question, and the installation itself checked — clearance, levelling, drain routing and the circuit it is on. You get the findings in plain language and a written estimate before anything is ordered.

  3. after

    After the repair

90 days on labor and 365 days on parts, genuine oem parts throughout. Where the real cause is the room rather than the machine — a condenser breathing through a blocked plinth grille, a door that no longer closes square, a board left connected through a restoration — we say what has to change, including the cases where nothing we fit will hold.
