You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labor begins. Nothing proceeds without your approval.

Payment accepted: cash, check, credit card, debit card. Payment is due on completion, not in advance.

Before · during · after
  1. before

    Before the visit — nothing

There is no booking fee, no call-out charge on top of the diagnostic, and no charge for the phone call itself. If what you describe is outside what we work on, we say so on the phone rather than driving out to say it. Scheduled appointments only, Mon–Fri 8–6 · Sat 9–4, with no out-of-hours premium because we do not offer out-of-hours work.

  2. during

During the visit — $129, flat

One fee, whatever the appliance and however long the diagnosis takes. It covers travel inside our working radius, measurement rather than guesswork — cavity temperatures through a full cycle, sealed-system pressures where they are in question, the condenser and airflow path inspected, the door and its seal checked for square — and a written estimate before anything is ordered.

  3. after

After you approve — the fee comes off

$129 is credited against the repair when you approve the work, so on an approved job you pay for parts and labor only. Decline the repair and the $129 is all you owe; you keep the written findings and are free to take them anywhere. 90 days on labor, 365 days on parts, genuine OEM parts only.

What the fee covers

  • Travel to the address within the working radius
  • Full diagnosis of the reported fault, measured rather than assumed
  • The installation checked as well as the appliance: clearance, levelling, drain and circuit
  • A written estimate covering parts, labor and the time it will take
  • A plain answer when the honest recommendation is replacement, not repair

What it does not

  • Parts, and the labor to fit them — those are quoted separately and in writing
  • A second appliance. Each unit diagnosed on the same visit carries its own fee
  • Whole-house water treatment, which is plumbing work rather than appliance work
  • Electrical work back beyond the appliance connection — that belongs to an electrician
  • Cabinet modification where a replacement will not fit an older opening

Why we do not quote a repair over the phone

The same sentence has different causes behind it. "It is not cold enough" is a fouled condenser on one visit, a door that no longer closes square on the next, and a failed defrost heater on the third — and the parts cost is different by an order of magnitude across those three. "It will not switch on" the week after a restoration is usually a board; the same words in January are often a door switch. A figure quoted before anyone has measured anything is a guess with a decimal point, and it is always the customer who absorbs the difference.

So the sequence is fixed: diagnose, quote in writing, then you decide. Nothing is ordered and no panel comes off until you have said yes.
